The Ref Online was conceived in 2018 from a simple observation: while player training technology advanced rapidly, referee education remained largely static, relying on outdated manuals and infrequent in-person clinics. Our founders, a former professional referee and a sports ed-tech entrepreneur, partnered to bridge this critical gap with a scalable digital solution.

Our initial beta platform launched in 2020 with a single course and a small group of pioneering officials. The overwhelming positive feedback and clear improvement in their officiating metrics validated our concept. This early success fueled rapid development, leading to the launch of our full suite of services, including the live simulator, by early 2022.
